Hi all new to this tribe, kinda fell in :)
Im an Aussie chic, ops old chook, who doesnt know much of anything. xx
Had this dream last night, and wondered what it could mean?
Friend and i went through many trials and tibulations on a journey to see Rimpoche (spelling) my friend became very selfish in trying to get there first, she pushed me away from the little windows we had to climb though and such.
And yes she was first into his presence, but for some reason i accepted that is how she was. He lived in a little old shack, on reaching there an old woman said he was outside somewhere, when we went looking he was sitting on the grass looking out over a mountain range. My friend went up to him and i stood back behind a rock to give them privacy, then when it was my turn, i bowed with hands joined at the heart and looked into the face of this ancient man and then wendy just disappeared!! Woke up with a fright.
The dream was very long but you get some idea of it.
I know nothing much of Buddism and wondered if anyone here has an idea what the dream may be telling me?
Blessings xxxxxxxxxxxx

Arn't dreams simply beautiful,.Yet dreams are simply that, a spark of the truth about reality, like a rainbow or a mirage.

As an aussie bloke forgive my pretense,.

Dreams in the early morning are considered more often {ref..Dreaming the Lotus} in tibetan buddhist narrative. In any case these are my thoughts, remember my thoughts are merely designation and it is up to you how you would choose to interpret it.

The people and voices in our dreams are usually representative of aspect of ourselves. So a small window, a glimpse at the Dharma {In the aspect of the Lama, whom represents all the buddhas and bodhisattvas of the three times, all the statues, stupas and scriptures} An aspect of yourself gets in the way of seeing. What is it you don't want yourself to see? Why are you complacent? Perhaps there is an unconfirmed interest in Buddhism, a reason why you stop yourself in the pursuit of such interests.

Anyway, this may not help, just a thought after all.
    With much kindness,
    Tashi

Blessings and thanks, xxx yes much jumped into consciousness as i read your post. lol and im an Aussie chic so all is well lol
The first thing that poped up was my friend was my spirit, all my life spiritual things have happened and it has taken the physical awhile to catch up. like my spirit is draging me through experiences that only in time does the physical go aha. Does that make sense? All my life spirit has been in the forfront of my life, even if i didnt have a name for it. To the point of not wanting to stay in this physical body by the time i was 11, the Earth seemed to harsh.
Have done a journey through Burma, with a lady there who ... well i do not have words to say who she is, only she has been meditating 18 hours a day since she was 16 or so.
We meditated in temples throughout Burma and there were many tears of joy and humble moments to say the least. But i do not wish to be part of a religion, one can experience all that is without being tied to certain beliefs and ceremonies. I loved the feeling in the Temples and always, something within that felt at home being there.
So what exactly is the Dharma? Is it the meaning of life?
Thak you for your words, will sit with some more. Blessings xxxxxxxx

Yes Wendy, that makes complete sense,

And, why would you want the religious trappings, after all we are not a monastic society. However, we should remember also that the Buddha Shakyamuni said, "Do not believe anything, merely on the authority of your teachers", this is a remarkable statement! It is asking us to check up, to go within and think with logic about the "truths" we come to, when we have an intellectual understanding we can then contemplate, and then meditate to be certain that is true. B.Alan Wallace would say, this is "cogent inference". His Holiness the Dalai Lama, is constantly telling us, that we must check up, if something cannot be found to be true through the reasoning and logic {mentioned above}, then we must give it up, throw it in the garbage.

Here we see that there is no reductionist approach to one personal experience and life. That Buddhism more than a religious tradition tends more toward psychology. An eastern tradition of psychology that predates modern western equivalents, yet is more than apt to give an attainment of personal understanding in to the workings of ones own mind, consciousness, and life. One essentially becomes as Lama Yeshe would say, "Ones own therapist", this is a very empowering notion.

        >>>So what exactly is the Dharma?
This is a broad question,. In one context the Dharma is the collective teachings, the oral tradition, sutra' {sutta} and shastra of the Buddha, these were first written by his close disciple Asunga, after Buddha Shakyamuni entered pari-nirvana. In another context, is is the combination or paths, that exist to get one to Nirvana {Nibbana}, or Enlightenment if you prefer, The many traditions of the Buddhist path. In yet another context, Dharma is the actual direct perception of the teachings, this is the level of realisation or "cogent inference", is beyond a conceptual framework and very subtle. Ultimately Dharma is the mirror upon which all phenomena of samsara and nirvana reflects.

Thus Dharma has outer, inner and secret reference points.

        >>> Is it the meaning of life?
        I don't know, lol.
However, what does one lose. In my own experience it has certainly changed my life for the better. I am kinder, more gentle and compassionate, alot more wise and have more insight into the psychology of myself and others.
It is beautiful really, I often say, if Buddhism is completely wrong, at least I'm a better person and that no one receives harm from me.
So that's the nut shell answer on how to live, be kind, be patient that's all...

Thank you xx so maybe The Dharma IS life when we are on the spiritual journey?
lol will print out your words, much to take in beyond the reading.
Do not think Buddhism or any religion is wrong unless it uses God for an excuse to kill. I do believe in all the Masters that have come to assist humanity, for one has experienced enough to know their energy and teachings are real.
It is a very individual thing, if i was looking for a religion or way of living Buddhism would be my first choice, feel i have been one many times as the teachings, temples and such resonate very strongly within.
But in this life the journey is different for me, seems the next step must be taken, Christ, Buddha, and all the masters that have walked the planet brought the teachings for that time, we all have them within, if we take time to meditate and follow our spirit. It seems it is time for the next step, or spiritualy we will be happy with nirvana and never go on.
What is the saying, Before enlightenment a tree is a tree a mountain is a mountain, after enlightenment a tree is still a tree and a mountain is still a mountain!
So what is the next step? Evolution never stops still for long, so we can presume spiritual evolution doesnt either. It seems like we are learnign to live life in every moment from Divine Source, to become that which we worshiped or revered, to allow that to flow through this physical being, as Jesus said, the father and i are one,! there was no middle man so to speak, and isnt that what all the masters have come to teach? But it ended up that people put them on pedastils and worship them instead of .. God, Divine source, Great Spirit, what ever name you use. These are just my feelings, and as i said before we all have different spiritual journeys none better or worse than the other, like a dove, all the feathers, eyes, mouth and bum have a different job, but without any one of them, lol dead dove! The amazing thing is we are all let to be where we need to be if we listen to spirit, it is so amazingly beautiful one sits in awe of the process. :*)
Love you and how you seem to stimulate me to words and feelings that ive never realy hadto express before. xxx
          Blessings xxxxxx
